With summer soon upon us, July in the Lake District is set to be a busy month. Although not just at our spa hotels in Windermere, but with a whole host of events and things to do. In fact, since our spa suites have started to re-open, so too has the wider leisure and tourism industry.
What’s on in the Lake District in July 2021
After a troublesome 12 months, it’s great to see so many pubs, restaurants and local attractions starting to return to normal. As such it’s a good time to start looking ahead at some of the upcoming events and other things to do in the Lake District.
Below are a few selected events, however, please check official local listings for any further updates. As well as an abundance of art, music, theatre and special events available elsewhere.
Summer Festival 21
Not to be confused with the Lake District Summer Music Festival, the Summer Festival 21 is all about local bands and DJ’s. As well as special guest Jordan North from BBC Radio One, The Dales and Andrew Ellis & Thomas Turgoose from This is England!
Racing at Cartmel
The summer racing season at Cartmel starts on 17th July 2021. Although certain restrictions may still be in place, race enthusiasts can once again return to the stands. Plus, there are plenty of outdoor space to enjoy other on-site activities.
Ullswater Country Fair
One thing that was certainly missed last year was the many traditional country fairs in the Lake District. However, Ullswater is proud to announce its annual event returns on Sunday 25th July 2021.
Tom Jones – Bitts Park
The 25th July 2021 also hosts the legendary Tom Jones at Bitts Park in Carlisle. Tickets are available to book in advance, as Sir Tom celebrates over 50 years in the music industry.
Lakeland Trails
With a number of gruelling events taking place on the 10th July 2021, you’ll certainly welcome the benefits of a hot tub after competing! The competition ranges from 14k to 100k with routes that certainly embrace the incredible landscape of Cumbria.
Festival of Transport
Petrolheads, classic car enthusiasts and those with an interest in public buses and such, come together for the Lakes Festival of Transport. The free event on Saturday 17th July 2021 will also include live entertainment, market stalls and fairground rides.
However, this is far from a complete list of things to do in July this year. As such, whatever you wish to get from your time away, a spa break in the Lake District is certainly one to consider.
